President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Dr Akihiko Tanaka from Tokyo, on his first visit to India, on Tuesday, visited projects like Mumbai Trans Harbour Sealink (MTHL) which JICA has funded.
Interestingly, during his courtesy visit, Tanaka also met Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his office. During the meet, the CM solicited funds for two more projects — the underground metro line 11 (Wadala-CSMT) and Mumbai-Goa coastal highway greenfield project, said a Mantralaya official. Recently, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) undertaking line 3 has been given the responsibility of the Metro line 11 project from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). JICA has funded the underground Metro 3.
