Consulting with global carmakers ahead of new EV policy: Official

The Union government is consulting global carmakers ahead of coming out with its new electric vehicle (RV) policy, a senior official said Thursday.

“Consultations on a new EV policy to boost investment and manufacturing are underway. The talks aim to bring all countries on board — including Italians, Korean and for Indian carmakers as well. It should be for everyone,” the official said.

The official did not give a timeline for the launch of the new policy, which aims to boost EV manufacturing and attract investments in the sector.
