The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, has accused the state government of allowing Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to “loot” power consumers by delaying bill generation and delivery due to which people are made to pay additional 15-20 per cent.
In a joint statement, the coordinator of the party’s Bijli Morcha and MLA Meet Hayer stated that the party had raised the issue of inordinate delay in dispatching of bills and grant of new power connections. State convener and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said, “Just like the erstwhile Badal government, Capt Amarinder government too is indulged in an open ‘loot’ of consumers. Electricity offices in the state were non-functional for over 20 days. Electricity bills, which should have reached the consumers 15-20 days ago, have not been even generated. Those seeking amendment to wrongly generated bills or seeking new power connections have been left to suffer.”
