New Delhi: Coal minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday said power plants will end the financial year with 45 million tonnes of fuel, much higher than last year’s 37 million tonnes, which included imported stock. The projection is higher than the ministry’s earlier projection of around 40 million tonnes as closing stock at plants. The overall coal stock, including fuel in transit and at pitheads, is expected to be at 150 million tonnes as on March 31, he said. Last year, the total stock as of March end was 125.5 million tonnes.
