The power sector will see an investment of around ₹17 lakh crore in the next 5-7 years amid growing capacities across segments and has already witnessed ₹20 lakh crore investment in the last nine years, power and renewable energy minister RK Singh said.
About 85 GW of thermal capacity is being added and 14 GW hydro projects are under construction with another 14-15 GW under clearances, he said.
