NEW DELHI: High temperatures in August and throughout most of September led to record-breaking power demand in the capital, data shows.
Delhi’s State Level Despatch Centre (SLDC) revealed that the city’s peak power in September this year exceeded the levels of 24 days in the corresponding period last year. In August, barring one day (Aug 27), Delhi’s peak power demand exceeded last year’s levels on all days of the month.
The city’s peak power demand last month was registered on September 5, when it reached 6,993 megawatts, its highest ever for the month of September. The peak power demand in September 2022 was 6,687 MW.
