After a power demand of 7,695 megawatt last year, the peak power demand this summer is expected to cross 8,000 MW, said officials. To ensure regular power supply with zero power cuts, the Delhi government has started work on the summer action plan and discoms have started banking arrangements.
According to officials, discoms will also use green power through solar energy to meet the demand.
Power minister Atishi Tuesday held a review meeting on the action plan with officials of power department and three discoms — Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd.
