KOLKATA: The KMC roads department will repave and smoothen Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road, the thoroughfare spanning 2.5 km from Hazra to Tollygunge Rail bridge, to enable motorists a jerk-free ride. The restoration work, however, is unlikely to start before the Puja.
A KMC roads department official mentioned that the process will begin after the water supply department completes underground pipeline repairs. “We are set to initiate the work but are waiting for the KMC water supply department to begin repairs. Restoration of the road may need to wait for a couple of months,” said a KMC roads department official.
