E M Bypass motorable till Patuli, death trap beyond it
KOLKATA: It is a tale of two Bypasses. While the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) roads department keeps a continuous vigil on the 20km stretch between Ultadanga and Patuli, the stretch between Dhalai Bridge and Baruipur flyover is a picture of neglect.
A TOI survey on Tuesday found several craters on this connector, which pose a threat to the motorists and the bikers who take the connector to reach the southern suburbs. Speaking to TOI, a section of the local residents and shop owners complained about inaction of the civic agencies in repairing the craters that often lead to road accidents.
