NEW DELHI: The Public Works Department (PWD) is going to carry out extensive repair work on the Mehrauli-Mahipalpur bypass road, which connects key areas in south and southwest Delhi and also leads to the airport.
This six-lane road – passing through a market area, with schools, gas stations and several commercial establishments on its either side – remains highly congested due to the heavy load of vehicles coming from Gurgaon to Delhi. The condition of the road is also poor. With commercial vehicles parked on both sides of the road, the traffic is further slowed down.
