The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is likely to postpone the execution of the first phase of the strategic Pathankot-Mandi road widening project, linking Pathankot with Leh, because of the failure of state government in granting forest and environment clearances.
Sources in the NHAI told The Tribune here today that it had submitted papers to the state government on July 3 after completing all nodal formalities but in the past three months, the file had not been cleared by the government.
