BENGALURU: The energy and transport departments have used their entire portion of the first tranche of funds released under the Scheduled Caste sub-plan and Scheduled Tribe plan (SCP-TSP) to fund the Shakthi and Gruha Jyothi schemes — two major poll guarantees Congress had announced in the run up to elections.
The energy department received Rs 716 crore, while the transport department got Rs 88 crore. The women and child welfare department is also likely to use most — if not all — of its SCP-TSP allocation of Rs 1,527 crore for the Gruha Lakshmi.
