BENGALURU: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said he will speak with members of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) on electricity tariffs and urge them to cancel their one-day strike scheduled for Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said the energy department and Escom authorities spoke to FKCCI representatives and explained to them why electricity bills received in June looked inflated. He said he hoped captains of industry were convinced with the explanation.
“Officials explained that the huge bill they received was charges for the two preceding months and hence was seen as high,” Siddaramaiah said. “However, from next month, only a monthly bill will be generated. I am hoping that our officials were able to convince them with facts and figures. ”
