Kolkata: There was no East-West Metro service on Saturday for an integration exercise for the functional 10km Sector V-Sealdah and the upcoming 4.8km Esplanade-Howrah Maidan sections.
Scores of passengers returned disappointed, having failed to avail Metro service on Saturday, not knowing that the crucial work of linking the software and hardware of the two sections was underway. Services will be suspended next Saturday (August 26) as well, for the remaining part of this integration exercise.
