Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) is in the process of finalizing its orders after initiating a consultation paper in January 2015 on determining various types of tariffs, which shall be applicable till 2019 for Delhi airports. A consumer association and an association of Airlines have demanded lower tariffs.
Also, GMR controlled Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) must pay to Airport Authority of India (AAI) 45.99 per cent of its Gross Revenue as annual fee. But, GMR has all the time been able to get higher tariffs and also reduce share to AAI by shifting certain operations to joint venture companies. The final AERA order would be under watch for its fairness.
