The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Monday released a statement asking airlines to position certifying staff (AME category B1/B2 licence) at all base and transit stations including availability of required tools and equipment.
As an alternative, an airline may opt for sending the certifying staff on flight duties.
The spot check was carried out by DGCA to ensure that airlines are adhering to the laid down standards since many engineering related occurrences in scheduled airlines were reported in the recent times.
