MUMBAI: Construction giant J Kumar Infraprojects, which is executing Metro-3 works, was on Wednesday issued a stop-work notice by the BMC for not following key air pollution mitigation measures at BKC. Similar action has been taken against 40 private construction sites at BKC, Bandra East and Santacruz East.
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board(MPCB), too, has issued show-cause notices to 14 ready mixed concrete (RMC) plants of various construction majors, like HCC, L&T and Nagarjuna, which are building the city’s big-ticket transport projects, such as the coastal road, Metro corridors and Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) for similar violations.
