Mumbai: Bellasis Bridge’s working life over, needs to be rebuilt

MUMBAI: Bellasis Bridge, which connects Tardeo to Nagpada, with the local train station gate of Mumbai Central in between, is likely to be closed from December 1 for reconstruction. For continued access to the station, Western Railway has decided to build a temporary foot over-bridge with an escalator. Like at present, it will lead to the station’s booking window.

Mumbai Central is also WR’s terminus for long-distance trains.

Bellasis Bridge’s closure will bar vehicular access to the terminus gate from the west, which means, those from Tardeo and adjacent areas will have to take a detour to reach the gate, unless they want to use the temporary bridge to the local train station and thereon transfer to the terminus.
