Tirupati runway in poor condition, airport closed after Air India aircraft suffers damage
MUMBAI: The fuselage and flight control surfaces of an Air India aircraft that took off from Tirupati airport on Tuesday afternoon suffered extensive damage, presumably because of foreign objects and particles on the runway. Following the incident, the airport runway was shut down, leaving air passengers on atleast a dozen arrival and departure flights stranded.
