Airport Ground Handling

Solar Tariff @ Rs 2.44/unit
Three biddings took place within a span of 30 days and the solar tariff came down by 22.54 per cent. On April 12, 2017 NTPC concluded the auction for its 250 MW project at Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh. Solairedirect emerged as the lowest bidder at Rs 3.15 per unit.

CIL: Apr’17 production slips 4.8 pc
Coal India’s coal production in April 2017 declined by 4.8 pc to 38.44 mn tonnes (mt) as compared to 40.09 mt produced in the comparable month of last year. But, coal offtake during the month under review was up 6.1 pc at 45.29 mt compared to offtake of 42.45 mt in the April 2016.
No-fly List
The government has framed rules for dealing with unruly and disruptive behaviour by the airline passengers. Airlines will maintain their database which will form a national no-fly list of unruly or disruptive passengers. Individuals who have been identified as security threats by the union home ministry will also be included in the list.

SC: Essar Hazira Plant Not Captive
On May 2, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeals of Essar Steel and Essar Power and upheld the Gujarat high court’s order holding them liable to pay Rs 1,038 crore towards electricity duty to the state government. “We are dismissing the appeals,” a bench of Justices AK Sikri and Ashok Bhushan said.
