The BJP led Uttar Pradesh government, that aims to provide affordable electricity to 1.86 crore unconnected houses by October 2018, has cancelled all the five PPAs (5×90 MW) that the earlier state government had signed with the Bajaj group. The company has moved the court challenging the cancellation. In our May 15, 2017 issue, we had given detailed evidences how the Bajaj group was being paid Rs 1,577 crore extra from FY12 to FY17 by the state discoms. Here are some brief facts.
