Several youth engaged by a company for security of work sites on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway here held protests seeking release of wages pending for the last six months.
The security guards held protest at administrative complex of the company at Dalwass Ramban. They alleged that the assurances given to them by Jammu-based contractor for releasing their salary have proved to be a hoax.
“We have time and again taken up the matter with the contractor but expect for hollow promises we got nothing. “The Eid is approaching and we have been left high and dry. We will intensify our protest if our genuine demands are not fulfilled,” they said.
They appealed to the Governor’s administration and Deputy Commissioner Ramban to intervene in the matter.
