Recovering from the adverse impact of Covid, Pune city continues to struggle with amenities to ease the life of residents as slow pace of infrastructure work continues to be a roadblock for the city’s development.

Metro rail is the most crucial infrastructure development that is taking place in the city. The transportation system that has the ability to change the demography is fraught with the slow pace of work. Last year, the Pune Metro began operation on a small stretch of Line 1 and Line 2 of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadiand respectively. It took one more year to extend the operations on the two lines while the last stretch of both the lines to be developed in the first phase is yet to be operational despite the long delay.
