The construction of Gas insulated power station, a first in the city, has begun in the city on Wednesday. Customary rituals were carried out at the site on Wednesday which marked the beginning of the construction work.
The project is being developed on 656.3 acres in Dhurwa area of the city. The substation will fulfill the 24×7 power needs of the city and a sum of Rs 220 crores has been made for setting up of the gas insulated power substation.
It will take a total of 18 months to build the substation. Jharkhand has been seeing the construction of AIS-Air Insulated Substation in the recent years. The commencement of this project will be a new experience for Jharkhand Power Transmission Corporation Limited.
