PUDUCHERRY: Union road transport and highways, micro, small and medium enterprises minister Nitin Gadkari said the ministry will consider the Puducherry government’s request to declare stretches of state highway as national highway in the Union territory.
He was here on Friday to review the national highways projects in the Union territory. Later speaking to reporters, he termed the outcome of the meeting ‘positive’ and assured that the ministry will clear all the issues raised by chief minister V Narayanasamy. He said one of the issues – declaring stretches of state highway into national highway may take some time’.
“First of all, let me complete my commitment and in future, we will think about it (declaring state highways into national highways,” he said.
