TIRUPATI: A wild elephant was electrocuted after it accidentally hit an electric pole and high-tension electric cables snapped and fell on it.
Palamaner forest range officer Sivanna told reporters that the incident occurred at Byreddypalli mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district on Sunday.
He said that a group of wild tuskers had crossed over from Karnataka into the Andhra Pradesh reserve forests and that the electrocuted tusker was part of the herd.
