BENGALURU: Hanumanthnagar police arrested a 36-year-old woman on Thursday for allegedly killing her husband in self-defence the previous night.
According to police, Asha, a resident of Ashoknagar on Katriguppe Main Road and from Chittapur in Kalaburagi district, and her husband Umesh, 45, lived in a makeshift house and had been working as construction labourers for 12 years in the city.
According to police, Umesh was an alcohol addict. On Wednesday morning, Asha gave him Rs 500 to get an LPG cylinder refill. But he spent the money on alcohol and returned home around 9pm. Umesh assaulted his wife with a wooden log when she confronted him and asked about the LPG refill and the money that she had given him.
