KOLKATA: Sealdah divisional railway manager (DRM) Deepak Nigam and commissioner of Customes inspected the border railway station in Gede on Wednesday facilitate faster movement of cargo and passengers trains across the border.
The officers conducted a joint inspection of the facilities available at the Customs checking point at railway station on April 5.
It is well-known that, apart from handling two India-Bangladesh passenger trains, the Sealdah division is dealing with export-import freight traffic with Bangladesh. At present, the traffic entering Bangladesh is being examined by Customs at Ranaghat Railway Station which takes more time for the dispatch of those rakes towards Bangladesh through Gede.
