India on a “daily basis” is breaking its pre-Covid record of air passenger traffic, as economic growth, rapid urbanisation and rising disposable income push demand for flying, aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Monday.
Speaking at the CAPA India Aviation Summit, Scindia said the government aims to build 26 more airports under its regional connectivity scheme, and has hired professionals in key aviation functions even as more flying training organisations (FTOs) and aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities come up.
