Waaree Technologies Ltd. (WTL) entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israeli company 3DBattery to collaborate on the development and production of advanced energy storage solutions.
The collaboration is centered on 3DBattery’s lithium-ion and upcoming sodium-ion technology. The signing of a definitive agreement will follow further evaluation of the partnership.
The collaboration with 3DBattery will equip Waaree Technologies Ltd. with the ability to domestically manufacture high-performance, rechargeable energy storage solutions, enhancing its position in the Indian and global new energy domain.
3DBattery specializes in advanced Lithium-ion battery cells with cutting-edge chemistry, offering enhanced energy storage performance. The company provides various cell chemistries for applications such as Electric Vehicles, Micro Mobility, and Stationary and Renewable Energy.
Commenting on the partnership Kirit Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, of the Company said, “We are excited to welcome 3DBattery on board as a partner. Their immense R&D capabilities, coupled with Waaree’s capabilities in manufacturing new energy solutions, will certainly pave the way for a paradigm shift in energy storage.”
He highlighted the strategic significance of leveraging 3DBattery’s lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery technology to build capacities for 5GWh of battery cell production.
Doshi emphasized the importance of reducing dependency on a single source and diversifying supply chains. He stated, “Our ability to produce the first fully Indian-manufactured next-generation battery system assumes a special significance. Through this partnership, Waaree will be equipped with the capability to serve every segment of the energy storage market, and to become a driving force in the global clean energy transition.”
