IN ITS chargesheet running into 11,000 pages, filed last month in the Videocon-ICICI Bank loan case, the CBI has claimed a false certificate was prepared stating that loan taken from the bank was utilised for the given purpose even though it was allegedly used for repayment of old loans.
The chargesheet was filed in March by the CBI against former ICICI Bank MD and Chairman Chanda Kochchar, her husband Deepak Kochchar and Videocon Group Chairman Venugopal Dhoot. The court is yet to take its cognizance. The CBI has also named Dhoot’s nephew Saurabh Dhoot and a chartered accountant as accused along with four others, including companies linked to the case.
