Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday announced that a Vande Bharat Metro train will run between Jammu and Srinagar once the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (USBRL) becomes fully operational. He also said that a Vande Bharat maintenance facility will be set up at Budgam once the railway line gets completed by December this year or January 2024.
“Yes, in all probability, Vande Bharat will run on the track in the first go,” he said. The minister crossed the world’s highest railway bridge over Chenab river in Reasi district in a rail trolley.
