Kolkata: Workers’ unions are opposing Coal IndiaNSE -1.13 %’s move to shift subsidiary marketing offices from Kolkata to their respective headquarters since it will disrupt jobs of some 130 employees and some 29 contract workers.
The decision was to shift subsidiary desk offices along with respective marketing and sales offices of subsidiaries, Eastern Coalfields, Bharat Coking Coal, Central Coalfields, South Eastern Coalfields and Mahanadi Coalfields from Kolkata to their respective subsidiary headquarters
