UltraTech Cement, one of India’s largest cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) companies has introduced 5 electric trucks for the transport of clinker from its integrated cement manufacturing unit Dhar Cement Works, Madhya Pradesh, to its grinding unit Dhule Cement Works, Maharashtra.
This pilot project is part of the company’s plans to reduce its carbon footprint. This move will help reduce 680 MT of CO2 annually. UltraTech has also set up 3 charging stations, one at each of the units and one enroute to support the electric trucks.
