Chennai: As part of an initiative to improve the power infrastructure, and further enhance the installation capacity, the government has proposed to establish two 730 MW capacity gas turbine power stations in Chennai, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami informed the Assembly.
“These gas turbine power stations would be established at an estimated cost of Rs 5,000 crore. Also, a detailed project report will be prepared soon,” Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said on Monday. Making a statement under rule 110 in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said the government has plans to spend `3,000 crore towards installing new equipment at the five thermal power stations so as to follow the TNPCB’s emission norms.
