GUWAHATI: Tripura’s Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said that the state government has approached the Centre to do necessary formalities as the state government is keen to continue with exporting 160 MW electricity to Bangladesh.
Tripura chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted:
Verma added that the state has surplus power and wants to continue with the supply to Bangladesh. “The five-year agreement with Bangladesh will expire in March and we have requested the Centre to do the necessary process for renewal of the agreement.”
State owned Tripura State Electricity Corporation gets around 45 Crore annually from the power supply.
