CHENNAI: A Trichy-Singapore Scoot Airways flight made an emergency landing at Chennai airport at 3am on Monday after pilots noticed smoke warning from cargo hold.
The airport sources said that the plane, which departed at around 1.50am from Trichy, landed safely at Chennai airport, which is the alternative airport for emergencies.
The plane was grounded because the flight duty time limit for the crew expired. Passengers were disembarked and moved to hotels in the city.
The flight is expected to depart to Singapore on Monday evening.
