A two-day training programme on the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) 2017, being organised by Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) and the Institution of Engineers, was inaugurated at the Institution of Engineers, Dugri Road, here.
The workshop is being organised as part of a PEDA initiative to promote awareness on the code. The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Anupam Nanda, senior district manager, PEDA, Ludhiana. Chairman of Institutes of Engineers, Ludhiana RL Mahajan was the guest of honour. Mahajan said there was a lot of scope for saving energy in buildings. Anupam Nanda said PEDA was going all-out to promote the spirit of conservation among people. He highlighted the growth achieved in the area of solar PV power generation. Arvind Dhingra, executive director, STEP, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, said such initiatives would go a long way in promoting the know-how of the code and make compliance its easier.
