New Delhi: Toll collections across National Highways in November so far have breached pre-Covid-19 levels to hover around 114% of those at the beginning of the year, a senior government official told ET. The number marks a sharp recovery in road traffic since March, when it had dwindled on account of the nationwide lockdown to limit the spread of the pandemic in the country.
Traffic across national highways had dipped to as low as 25%-30% of normal during the first phase of the nationwide lockdown in March.
“Toll collections across the country are around 114% of pre-Covid-19 levels,” the official said.
