A team of power department officials deployed at Dharampur village of New Palam Vihar subdivision was allegedly attacked by the residents during an inspection regarding electricity theft on Wednesday morning, the police said.
The inspection was being carried out in connection with an electricity theft detection campaign organised by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN).
According to a complaint filed at Rajendra Park police station by a subdivisional officer, a man allegedly started abusing, became aggressive and gave death threats to the team while they were checking the premises, The complaint stated that the accused allegedly called other villagers and provoked them.
