Seven people were injured when a boiler exploded in unit 1 of Kakatiya Thermal Power Plant (KTPP) at Chelpur in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district on Monday night.
Three of the employees are critical.
According to initial information, the blast occurred at a boiler tube in the 500MW power generation unit due to heat.
Later, fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire.
Seven workers, five of whom were contract employees, suffered burn injuries and were rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal for treatment. Telangana Genco chairman and managing director (CMD) D Prabhakar Rao and minister G Jagdish Reddy are monitoring the situation.
