NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Tuesday became the first in the country to successfully carry out performance trials with the ‘TaxiBot’ on the Airbus A320 family. The four-hour performance was carried out for an IndiGo aircraft with three Airbus operators also present, an official said.
TaxiBot is a special taxiing machine that will help reduce congestion, emissions and fuel consumption for airlines. The semi-robotic equipment can be attached to the nose of an aircraft, allowing it to taxii without using the engine.
