MUMBAI: Tata Power has launched an AI-enabled smart energy management system for power consumers in Mumbai. This will help conservation of energy and also lead to reduction in your monthly electricity bills, an official said.
“Tata Power has joined hands with AutoGrid to provide the AI-enabled smart energy management system and aims to engage 55,000 residential and 6,000 large commercial and industry customers in first phase to achieve 75 MW of peak capacity reduction, within the first six months of the roll out,” a senior official said. It plans to scale up the capacity reduction to 200 MW by the summer of 2025, when the peak demand goes up to the maximum level. Last summer, the peak demand had crossed 3,800 MW.
The AI-based system has focus on the behavioural demand response across residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Mumbai. “This pioneering program will help address peak demand challenges and support India’s clean energy transition and Net Zero goals as well,” he said.
