In a novel move, a Tangmarg villagers Monday dismantled fencing of their houses to pave way for road.
Residents of Tumberhama, five kilometers from Tangmarg voluntarily decided to dismantle their residential structures including walls, fencing and main gates and trees to pave way for widening of link roads to make them motorable.
The villagers made a development committee that led the demolition cum repair works.
“We have been asking successive regime for last 20 years to construct roads and other development works but they turned deaf towards us. Now we decided to do the same under self help” said the villagers.
