CHENNAI: When offshore windmills start producing power, Tamil Nadu will get round-the-clock wind power for six to seven months as against three to four months at present, said Tangedco chairman and managing director Rajesh Lakhoni on Wednesday.
Lakhoni was speaking at the inauguration of the fifth edition of Windergy 2023, an international trade fair and conference of windmill manufacturers.
He said though Tamil Nadu has slipped slightly below Gujarat in terms of highest installed capacity of wind power, the state still tops the chart output-wise. Tamil Nadu is the only state in the country where round the clock generation is possible, he said.
