Coimbatore: The city corporation on Friday bagged an award from the ministry of housing and urban affairs for conserving the urban environment by installing two solar power plants with a capacity of one megawatt each.
Corporation commissioner Sravan Kumar Jatavath received the award comprising a certificate and a cash prize of Rs5 lakh at a function that was held in Vishakhapatnam.
