Three days after it was launched, stones were pelted at the newly introduced Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal’s Malda (near Samsi Kumarganj) of Kathia Division of the Indian Railways. The glass door of a coach was damaged in the incident as the train was returning from New Jalpaiguri last evening. A case has been registered by the Indian Railways authority against unidentified persons under section 154 of the Railways Act. The incident happened only a few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah and New Jalpaiguri on December 30 last year.
