India’s steam coal imports dipped by 6% year-on-year in the April-July period, as less pressure on power plants’ stocks and drop in domestic e-auctioned fuel prices reduced the demand for imported fuel. Shipments from Indonesia dipped by almost a fourth from a year ago.
Total steam coal imports for the period stood at 60.7 million tonnes, data from the commerce ministry showed.
