Units of Norway-owned Statkraft have moved Himachal Pradesh’s high court challenging a decision by the state government to impose a water usage cess on hydro power generators who are operating projects in the hill state, according to sources in the know.
“We have challenged the decision on the grounds of legislative competence”, said a lawyer representing A.D Hydro Power and Malana Power, both of which are JV’s between Statkraft and LNJ Bhilwara group.
