The State Government has taken a concrete step towards facilitating the operation of sea planes on the Tehri dam reservoir. On Wednesday, a tripartite agreement for establishment of a water-aerodrome on the Tehri reservoir was signed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India and the State Government. With the agreement signed in presence of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand has become the first Indian state to enter an agreement for establishment of a water-aerodrome. Another agreement was also signed for communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management services for successful operation of air services at Nainisaini in Pithoragarh.
